The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to the Russian Federation visited Kuban State University

On September 24, 2021, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to the Russian Federation Andreas Zinonos visited Kuban State University.

The meeting were also participated by the wife of Mr. A. Zinonos - Mrs. Kyriaki Markulis Zinonos, Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Krasnodar Ilias Mavrokephalos, translator and employee of the Consulate General of the Republic of Cyprus in Krasnodar Sergey Viktorovich Kotikov.

On behalf of the Rector, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Quality of Education - First Vice-Rector Temyr Aytechevich Hagurov welcomed the honorary guests and stressed the importance of long-term cooperation between KubSU and the Embassy as well as educational organizations of the Republic of Cyprus.

Mr. Ambassador thanked for the opportunity to visit Kuban State University: "It is a special pleasure and honor for me to visit Kuban State University. This is my first visit to your region and, consequently, to the University."

The Ambassador also pointed out that education is one of the most important aspects in the development of relations between Russia and Cyprus.

After the official protocol meeting, Mr. Ambassador visited the Department of Modern Greek Philology, met with students of the Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations and the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology learning the Greek Language and Culture.

Andreas Zinonos gave a lecture on the Cyprus problem and relations between the Republic of Cyprus and the Russian Federation and answered all the questions of the participants of the event.
