KubSU is an active participant of the Cross-Year of Russia-Greece History

On April 27, 2021, as part of the events dedicated to the Cross–Year of Russia-Greece History, the exhibition " Arise, Greece, arise!" was officially opened at Kuban State University.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Greek National Liberation Revolution of 1821, which ended 400 years of Ottoman dominion. Russia also contributed to the beginning of this struggle, many of the organizers and participants of those events were from the Russian Empire.

The exhibition featured works by famous European and Russian artists who captured the dramatic events of the Hellenic struggle for independence. The exhibition also features a gallery of portraits of the Revolution heroes, their biographies and a brief overview of their participation in the revolutionary events.

Separate posters, prepared by the staff of the scientific library of Kuban State University, headed by its director Maryana Askerovna Khuade, are dedicated to books in prose and poetry.

The participants were greeted by the acting Head of the Department of Modern Greek Philology Dr. Galina Vladimirovna Red’ko and the Deputy Director of International Affairs Department of Kuban State University Evgenia Mikhailovna Rotai, who emphasized the importance of the National Liberation Revolution in the History of Greece.

The 3rd year students of the Faculties of Romance-Germanic Philology and History, Sociology and International Relations read the poems of the famous Russian poets A. S. Pushkin and M. K. Kuchelbecker, devoted to the events of the Greek Revolution in Russian and Greek.

Kakoliri Ioanna and Dimoulas Nikolaos – Greek teachers sent by the Greek Ministry of Education – provided great assistance in organizing and conducting the event.
