The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey visited Kuban State University

The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Novorossiysk visited Kuban State University.

On December 3, 2019 Mr. Bayar Firat, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey paid an official visit to Kuban State University. This is the first visit of the Consul to the Kuban State University.

At a meeting with Rector Mikhail Astapov, the two sides exchanged welcome speeches and confirmed their willingness to cooperate in education, science, culture and sports. Mikhail Borisovich suggested several measures according to development of cooperation with the Consulate General:

• visiting the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Novorossiysk by students of the Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations;
• a videoconference with the Consulate General, Kuban State University and Turkish universities to mark the 100th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Russia and Turkey;
• participation of a team from Haliç University (Istanbul) in the international football tournament scheduled for 2020 in Kuban State University.

The rector also informed Bayar Firat about possible introduction of "Turkish language" discipline in the curriculum of one of the university faculties. Mr. Consul General supported all proposals of the Rector and promised to help establish contacts with universities in Turkey. In addition, the guest got acquainted with the history of Kuban State University, visited the museum, exhibition hall of the university, as well as gallery of portraits of rectors.
